Our ethos and values: the All Hallows way. All Hallows is a well-established school that is part of the Monkton Family of Schools. This affiliation provides the security of a larger collective while allowing All Hallows the independence to deliver an educational framework that provides children with the best possible start to their learning journey. The school’s vision is to inspire young minds, empowering them to unlock their full potential, with a strong emphasis on happiness and wellbeing as the foundation of our educational philosophy.
Our Head, an Educational Psychologist, is a member of the prestigious National Education Panel at the Anna Freud Centre and paves the way for a school which prioritises each and every child. The All Hallows community is a vibrant tapestry where pupils, teachers, and parents come together to celebrate shared achievements. We believe in acknowledging progress and achievement in every aspect of school life.
A dynamic and evolving curriculum. All Hallows maintains high academic standards across a diverse range of subjects, placing a strong emphasis on experiential learning both inside and outside the classroom. A dedicated staff works closely with parents to prepare children for an ever-changing world. Starting from Nursery age and beyond, pupils have access to a vast and diverse curriculum, including woodwork and robotics in Creative Design, survival skills in Forest School, swimming lessons, Music, Modern Foreign Languages, and traditional core subjects like English, Maths and Science. The curriculum for Years 7 and 8 has recently been enhanced to be more relevant and purposeful, moving away from the traditional Common Entrance exam and better preparing students for their next steps.
This school’s curriculum cultivates character, promotes wellbeing, fosters a love of learning, and integrates modern teaching practices and EdTech: with every child in Year 6 and above having a one-to-one devices, interactive screens in every classroom, Ipads in younger years and technology appropriately integrated in everything we do.
A rich co-curricular programme. All Hallows offers a vast array of co-curricular opportunities through its extensive after-school and Saturday enrichment programme. Activities include clay-pigeon shooting, swimming lessons, tennis coaching, drama productions, Forest School sessions, art workshops, creative design lessons, golf, and music, among others. This programme helps children discover their unique interests, passions and hobbies. as well as building friendships, thrusting challenges, and supporting growth in all aspects of childhood.
Boarding: a home away from home. Our family-oriented boarding house is designed to be a positive and welcoming home-away-from-home. The school offers a blended approach to boarding, accommodating both full-time boarders and day pupils, which enriches the experience for everyone. The boarding staff’s primary role is to look after the pupils, creating a fun, safe and happy environment. With an average of 40 boarders, pupils quickly get to know one another and their boarding parents, which helps them feel at home.
Nursery and Reception: building strong foundations. Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Nursery and Reception classes are ideally situated at the heart of the school, with dedicated indoor and outdoor spaces that provide a joyful, calm, safe, and stimulating environment. By being part of a prep school, our children benefit from access to specialist teaching staff in subjects such as Music, Art, Forest School and Sports. They also have access to all Prep school facilities, including the nine-acre woodland for Forest School, on-site Tennis Academy, Creative Design Centre, swimming pool, and various music and sports facilities.
Sports: excelling on and off the pitch. All Hallows has a rich tradition of regional and national sporting success, both as a team and at an individual level. The school’s commitment lies in achieving excellence within a ‘sport for all’ framework. The school boasts a generously sized all-weather Astro pitch and brand new all-weather courts which allows for extensive sports practice – both during the school day and after school.
Impressive facilities. A school punching generous facilities, including an all-weather Astro pitch, new multipurpose courts, extensive sports grounds, a 9-acre Forest School, Creative Design Centre, Art Workshop, Swimming Pool, Tennis Academy, and a Sports Hall (to name a few). These facilities, combined with small class sizes and a network of experienced teachers, provide the best possible foundations for your child’s education.
Supporting every step of the way. During your child's 'All Hallows' years, programmes such as 'No one Left Behind', 'Girls on Board' and Progressfull enhance your child's understanding about themself, friendships, community, and navigating the complexities of childhood.
The school also offers valuable guidance and support to help you select the most suitable senior school for your child, whether it is Monkton Senior, or further afield. Pupils who move on to their chosen senior schools leave All Hallows confident and well-prepared to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.
