Founded pre 1850, Beech House School is an award winning independent co-educational school for students aged two to sixteen years. It has been Independent School of the year in 2020, 2023 and 2024. An Upper Preparatory department for children aged eight to eleven years and a Senior department for those aged eleven to sixteen years have been based on the Manchester Road site in Rochdale for its entire history. The Lower Preparatory department for children aged two to seven has been based at Broadfield Style.
We offer a unique education as individual as each child. With class sizes averaging twelve students, there is room galore for youngsters to lean, grow and succeed as they progress through their academic journey to excellence, so that they become independent learners.
The independent co-educational day school takes children from as young as two and nurtures their full potential through their primary and secondary education. Despite its small size, or maybe because of it, the school is bursting with academic, sporting and extra-curricular success. We look at each child as an individual, as they progress through Beech House.
We are a school that has a broad spectrum of students from every social and economic background, including students with special educational needs. Part of our success lies in operating a little differently to other independent schools.
All children, regardless of their abilities are encouraged to take part in a broad range of activities as a way of building confidence and discovering new talents. We operate a policy of inclusiveness; we're not just picking the best but ensuring everyone is performing together.
There is a real affection amongst former students for their time here and it is not unusual for us to teach generations of the same family, The wonderful thing about Beech House School is that we can change a person's future just by them coming here. We give students opportunities they might never have had.
