Joining us. Our Nursery is the perfect start for your child’s learning journey, opening up a world of wonder and nurturing care. Nestled in the grounds of our Junior School in Liphook, we warmly welcome children the term following their third birthday.
Our twoform entry Reception offers a safe and secure foundation for our young learners to thrive. Little ones in the Nursery will experience a smooth progression into Reception.
Our School. We are a haven for learning and adventure with a ‘have a go’ philosophy and an overarching aim for each child to reach their personal best inside and outside the classroom. With a broad and rich curriculum, the children enjoy a range of subjects and fully seize the array of opportunities on offer. From the academic to the activities that feed the soul, the children love it here.
Set just off the South Downs in Liphook, Hampshire, on the borders of Surrey and West Sussex, your child can experience a real countryside childhood and then make a very smooth transition at 11 years old as they move to the Senior School in Petersfield. Every child’s happiness is paramount to their achievement and we pride ourselves on our high-quality pastoral care, excellent teaching and learning, all within a warm, family atmosphere.
An exceptional Early Years education. We believe in a holistic approach to learning and that a relaxed, happy child, who is able to laugh, will learn best. We encourage this from the very first steps of your child’s learning journey with us in Nursery and Reception – the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
We provide an outstanding Early Years education focused on unleashing a child’s spirit and sparking their wonder of learning. Our children’s love of learning is nurtured through play, guided by experienced teachers allowing them to blossom and grow.
Pastoral. Excellent pastoral care ensures happy children. At Churcher’s we are fully committed to providing the highest standards of pastoral care to ensure your child’s wellbeing. Children flourish when they feel valued in a secure, welcoming and friendly environment – enabling then to grow personally, socially, spiritually and intellectually.
Academic. Academic rigour is at the heart of everything we do, where we seek to balance the acquisition of knowledge and skills to equip our children with the tools they need to be happy and successful. We provide a diverse range of activities that cater for the varying needs of our pupils, allowing each child to confidently take their next steps in learning.
Sport. Every child deserves the opportunity to find enjoyment and success within sport and physical activity. We offer boundless sporting opportunities with a philosophy of participation and performance.
Performing arts. Our drama and music provision play an essential role in school life. From dance and music to theatre and visual arts, the arts give children a unique means of expression and allow them to explore new ideas subject matter and cultures.
Outdoor learning and adventure. Nurturing an adventurous spirit is a core value at Churcher’s. Taking lessons outside and offering plenty of opportunities to explore has many benefits for learning and development; plus it is great fun too!
At Churcher’s, we take a rounded view of your child’s education, using our fantastic facilities and acres of space to enhance their school experience. By weaving outdoor learning into the school day, we help children deepen their understanding of subjects while encouraging their happiness, health and creativity to flourish.
Nurturing creativity. From Art and D&T to creating a podcast or a computer game using code, Churcher’s pupils are encouraged to use their creativity in all sorts of ways.
We embrace the philosophy that every child is an artist, and offer outstanding resources to encourage artistic exploration and expression. Our investment in the arts includes our brand-new light and airy Art Room, opened in 2024, which provides the perfect space for pupils to explore and try all sorts of creative activities.
Clubs and after-school activities. Beyond the classroom there is a vast array of opportunities and experiences to inspire, support and extend the academic curriculum. Our supra-curricular and extracurricular programmes have been designed to give every pupil the freedom to explore and build new talents and skills.
The Guild Award. Unique to Churcher's College Junior School and Nursery, the Guild Award is a DofE-style programme of challenges, which is very popular and available from Year 3. The award helps pupils to develop through attaining new skills and abilities, think beyond themselves, develop a resilience to difficulty through new challenges and develop leadership qualities.
