Radnor House Sevenoaks Prep School is a flourishing independent school for pupils aged 2 to 11, offering an academically ambitious and nurturing start from Nursery through to Year 6. The Prep School combines strong academic aspiration with a commitment to celebrating every individual.
Aims and ethos. As the world becomes increasingly complex, diverse and fast-paced, Radnor House Sevenoaks Prep School is dedicated to future-proofing its pupils – providing the knowledge, character and confidence they need to flourish both now and in the years ahead. Academic challenge is central to the school’s approach, supported by expert teaching and a curriculum designed to spark curiosity and develop firm foundations for future study.
Interpersonal skills such as emotional intelligence, collaboration and leadership are woven into school life, ensuring pupils grow into confident and considerate young people. The school’s core values – excellence, respect, courage and perseverance – form the moral compass that guides pupils from their earliest years.
Pupil happiness remains a priority; the school firmly believes that confident, secure and joyful children are those who will take risks in their learning, grasp new opportunities and approach their education with purpose. Radnor House continues to pioneer high-quality digital learning through its partnership with Microsoft as a flagship school, ensuring pupils gain the digital fluency essential for future success.
Location. Set within a beautiful Palladian mansion and 27 acres of parkland just outside Sevenoaks, the Prep School benefits from outstanding facilities and a unique learning environment. The Nursery and Prep School sit alongside the Senior School and Sixth Form, enabling a seamless educational journey through to age 18. The Prep School itself is housed in the original stable block, offering a warm and distinctive setting where children feel secure, known and supported.
Curriculum. At the heart of Radnor House Sevenoaks Prep School lies the Archway Curriculum – a thoughtfully designed, academically ambitious framework that ensures every child develops strong core knowledge, deep understanding and the habits of scholarship required for future success. The Archway Curriculum provides clear progression from Nursery to Year 6, combining subject-specific rigour with cross-curricular connections that foster curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.
The approach is built around high expectations in English, Mathematics and Science, complemented by a rich programme in Humanities, Modern Languages, Computing and the Creative Arts. Specialist teaching, structured stretch-and-challenge, and purposeful assessment all contribute to pupils building secure foundations for Senior School.
The Prep School also boasts a strong Art Department supported by an innovative graphic design suite, and a vibrant Music Department with regular performances and wide participation. Sport is an important part of school life, with competitive success in a broad range of disciplines. Swimming in the school’s 25-metre indoor pool is particularly popular across all year groups.
Outdoor Adventurous Education – including Forest School and Bushcraft – is firmly embedded in the curriculum and plays a key role in building resilience, teamwork and confidence.
