The School, which is one mile from the country town of Cranbrook, has extensive grounds (50 acres) and offers a broad and varied education to boys and girls from 2 to 16 years. To ensure that children receive the personal attention that is vital for this age range, the School is divided up into three separate, self-contained, departments. These are Nash House (2–5 years), Prep (5–11 years) and Senior (11–16 years). Each department has its own staff, teaching equipment, sports facilities, playgrounds, swimming pools, etc. With Dulwich Cranbrook's recent expansion to Year 11, pupils are offered a rich GCSE curriculum. While the majority of pupils choose to progress from the Prep School to the Senior School, some pupils are prepared for Common Entrance and Scholarship examinations for Year 9 entry to other senior schools of their parents' choosing. The wide scope for sporting activities – football, rugby, cricket, hockey, netball, athletics, cross-country, swimming, tennis – is balanced by the importance attached to Art, DT, Dance, Drama, Computer Science and Music. Over 165 pupils have weekly individual music lessons. There are multiple choirs, an orchestra, a jazz band, flute ensemble, rock school, guitar ensemble, brass band, ukulele ensembles, and recorder ensembles. The flexi-boarders are housed in the Manor House, boys and girls each under the care of House staff. The happiness of the boarders is a particular concern and every effort is made to establish close and friendly contact between the School and the parents. There is a flourishing Parents' Association, and the school prides itself on its open-door policy and friendly atmosphere.
The School is a Charitable Trust, under the same Governing Body as Dulwich Prep London, although in other respects the two schools are quite separate. The link with Dulwich College is historical only.
Charitable status. Dulwich Cranbrook is a Registered Charity, number 1174358.
