Fairstead House is situated in the heart of Newmarket and offers a combination of an excellent academic education with an emphasis on creativity and imagination in a caring, happy community with a unique family ethos, closely linked to the local community.
From Nursery onwards, we offer a broad and stimulating curriculum which provides the children with a solid foundation for their onward journeys to senior schools in both Independent and State sectors. The curriculum is complemented by Art, DT, Music, Drama and Sports.
Pupils take part in a variety of sports such as rugby, football, cricket, hockey and netball. All children play rounders and take part in cross-country running and athletics.
Extracurricular Speech & Drama lessons are available, as is private tuition in a wide selection of musical instruments. All children take part in the many theatrical productions that are held at School.
A programme of development has ensured the provision of first-class facilities throughout the School including a state-of-the-art Music & Drama Centre with specialist facilities, an ICT suite, iPads, interactive whiteboards in every classroom and a dedicated Science & DT area.
As well as a breakfast club and after-school care club providing wraparound care, there is a diverse range of after-school activity clubs available. A Holiday Club is also available for all children out of term time.
Throughout the year, pupils go on a variety of trips and excursions, both day and residential. The residential trips to Norfolk and Snowdonia for the older pupils are designed to encourage independence and cultivate a spirit of adventure as well as personal responsibility and development.
