Greenbank is an independent co-educational school for pupils aged three to eleven years. A separate Nursery, open 50 weeks of the year, cares for babies and children from six months to four years old.
Greenbank School was founded in 1951 by Karl and Linda Orsborn. Since 1971, the School has been administered by an Educational Trust and is registered with the Department for Education.
Greenbank is situated within extensive grounds and comprises a mixture of traditional and modern buildings including an IT Suite and Library, separate play areas for Foundation, Infant and Junior children, playing fields with a cricket pavilion, an Astroturf area and netball court. 2009 saw the opening of state-of-the-art Science, Art and Music classrooms within a new administration building. Further developments in 2012 included a new Pre-school offering greater flexibility to parents.
The school day begins at 8.40 am and ends at 3.30 pm, however, we provide wraparound care from 7.30 am until 6.00 pm.
Through its varied curricular and extracurricular activities, the School provides pupils with the opportunity of expanding their natural abilities to the full. Music, drama, sport, computing and educational visits are some of the activities which play their part in providing a well-rounded programme of education. We strive to meet the social, emotional and intellectual needs of all pupils and the success of this philosophy is proven by the consistently outstanding examination results throughout the school, particularly at age eleven.
Charitable status. Greenbank School Limited is a Registered Charity, number 525930.
