Greenfields Independent Day and Boarding School is an Independent Schools Association school with a Preschool and a Reception class (forming the Early Years Foundation Stage), an Infant and Junior School, and a Senior School including Sixth Form and long and short-term (6 Month) English as a Second/Foreign Language courses.
Students aged 3 to 18 receive an all-round education for life, using the Cambridge and National Curriculum from Infants upwards. Greenfields utilises a unique study method that ensures children can apply what they learn for use in life – not just to pass examinations (please see our website for a full explanation). It has a strong moral code and zero tolerance for bullying, drugs, smoking and alcohol. Maximum to a class in Infants and Juniors, 16 and in Seniors, 20.
Situated on beautiful grounds, with its adventure playground backing onto the Ashdown Forest itself, the school is a safe and inspirational place to learn. We have also just acquired 19 more acres of ground in which to extend our sports facilities.
The main difference between Greenfields and other schools is the unique teaching method it uses. This method isolates the barriers preventing or hindering a child from learning and then provides precise tools to deal with them. Its use allows any child of any ability to learn anything. We are the only school in the UK licensed by Applied Scholastics International to use this amazing Study Technology.
There is a high level of open communication between students and staff which the school takes pride in and parents have full access to keep up with their child’s progress via the Parent Portal.
Every student is individually programmed and targeted to ensure each one achieves the success they are capable of. No student is left behind or held back from studying more advanced work if needed.
The classes are small and an excellent curriculum using the Cambridge and National framework, providing core subjects and peripheral studies, is available up to GCSE and Advanced Levels.
A ‘Qualifications’ department exists to check that students have fully understood each step of their studies, and also provides extra help for any student having any trouble in class. There is also a Student Consultant who helps to resolve any personal problems the student may have.
Entry is by assessments (not entry tests – Greenfields is non-selective) for literacy, science and numeracy. There is a pre-entry section for those who need a short programme to catch up and be ready to join their correct class.
Trains take under an hour from London to East Grinstead, which is a ten-minute car ride from the school. Gatwick Airport is a 20-minute car ride away.
Charitable status. Greenfields Educational Trust is a Registered Charity, number 287037. The object for which the trust is established is the advancement of education.
