Lancing College Preparatory School at Hove is situated on a superb 7-acre campus in the heart of Hove.
We aim to inspire a desire for excellence, to develop independent, searching minds and to foster creativity. We encourage the children entrusted to us to explore and achieve their potential, both academically and creatively. While academic achievement is rightly important to us, we place equal emphasis on our pupils’ personal development.
We are a school where integrity and kindness run through everything we do – a good school in every sense of the word. Each pupil’s contribution to the school’s intellectual, physical and cultural life is recognised and celebrated. We are small enough to feel like a family, yet big enough to encourage bold ambitions.
Proud of our traditions, we are also a forward-thinking school, building on past successes to reach even greater heights. By the time our pupils leave, they will have acquired confidence, self-belief and a strong set of values that will remain with them throughout their lives.
Our pupils are taught by a fully qualified team of 30 staff members in excellent facilities, both indoors and outdoors. These include a fully equipped Science laboratory, an Art, Design and Technology room and our IT and Computing Innovation Hub, completed in 2024. Our newly launched Food Technology room further enhances our practical curriculum offering.
Our extensive outdoor grounds include an adventure playground, school garden, science garden, forest school area, two grass fields and a floodlit, all-weather Games Area completed in 2023. Sports offered include cricket, football, hockey, netball, rounders, rugby and tennis. Co-educational sporting opportunities were introduced in 2022, including a termly co-ed tournament for visiting prep schools.
Pupils benefit from access to the cultural and sporting facilities at Lancing College. Years 7 and 8 also participate in a weekly language programme, learning Spanish or German, alongside a carousel of co-curricular activities. Scholarships with means-tested bursaries are available for entry into Year 7.
Charitable status. Lancing College is a Registered Charity, number 1076483. It exists to provide education for boys and girls.
