St Christopher’s Prep School and Nursery, a large Victorian building on Wembley Park Drive, offers a caring family atmosphere coupled with an equal emphasis on good manners, enthusiastic endeavour and academic excellence. The School, originally a Christian foundation dating from 1928, welcomes children of all faiths and cultures.
Caring and supportive staff provide a well-structured, disciplined and stimulating environment in which pupils are nurtured and encouraged to develop the necessary skills – academic, social and cultural – so that when they leave us at the age of 11 they can be certain of future success. All pupils at St Christopher’s are equal and we emphasise the qualities of equality, justice and compassion. Pupils benefit from a fast-paced holistic curriculum that offers both breadth and depth, an activity programme that teaches skills and develops talents, and a pastoral programme that develops social responsibility.
The full range of academic subjects are taught based on an enriched National Curriculum. Sport and Music are seen as central elements in school life with sports fixtures, regular concerts and an annual carol service. In addition there are a variety of clubs and activities both at lunchtime and after school; these include Arts & Crafts Club, Book Club, Booster Club, Chess Club, Choir, STEM, Football, Multi Sports, French Club, Supervised Study, Latin Club and Recorders.
Our Nursery is open 51 weeks of the year, offering a choice of 3, 4 or 5 full days a week. Fees for our Nursery are dependent on full-time or term-time contracts as well as families 15/30 hour funding arrangements.
Pupils are prepared for the full range of examinations at 11 years. Historically, leavers have gained entry to a wide range of excellent schools including Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ and Girls’ Schools, Merchant Taylors’, Northwood College, St Helen’s, North London Collegiate, Henrietta Barnett, Queen Elizabeth’s Boys’ School, City of London Boys and Girls, UCS, Aldenham, John Lyon, St Paul’s Boys’ and Girls’ Schools and South Hampstead High.
St Christopher’s offers both Morning and After-School Care, from 8.00 am until 6.00 pm.
