At Marlborough House Vinehall, we understand that today’s families lead busy and dynamic lives. Parents need childcare that fits around their work schedules, school holidays, and everyday life – not the other way round. That’s why we’re proud to offer flexible, year-round wraparound care tailored to meet the real needs of families with young children.
We operate wraparound care, which runs for 50 weeks of the year.
For Nursery children from 2–3 years of age, this runs from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm all year round. For children from 3–7 years of age, this runs from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm during term time, and from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm during the holidays.
In September 2025, Marlborough House Vinehall School came into being, bringing together two prestigious prep schools, Marlborough House and Vinehall. This ambitious development sees the schools unite on the existing Vinehall site, building on shared values and traditions, marking a significant development in independent education in the South-East.
MHV is a leading co-educational day, boarding school and nursery for children between the ages of 2 and 13 and is a proud member of the Repton Family of Schools. Our family of schools share an outward-looking, forward-thinking philosophy of how to give children the very best chances in the world that awaits them.
At Marlborough House Vinehall, our values shape every aspect of school life. We nurture empathy so that children understand and care for others; we uphold respect to create a culture of kindness and integrity; we champion courage so that pupils face challenges with confidence; and we inspire ambition, encouraging every child to aim high and believe in their potential.
These values are not just taught – they are lived every day in the way our pupils learn, play and grow together. They form the moral compass that guides our community and empowers our children to thrive in an ever-changing world. It is through this values-led approach that each child’s journey takes shape – because at Marlborough House Vinehall, great stories begin.
Our beautiful rural setting – 50 acres, complete with golf course, woods and panoramic views – provides the perfect backdrop for both structured learning and unstructured exploration.
MHV offers an exceptional array of opportunities in and out of the classroom:
dedicated spaces for Science, Art, DT, ICT, Drama and Music
sports including cricket, hockey, rugby, netball, football, swimming, athletics and more
Forest School, extensive outdoor learning and play
enrichment programmes and clubs in coding and programming, debating, horticulture, languages and more
wraparound care and flexible boarding options, including a 50-week care provision for Nursery to Year 2.
There is an outstanding balance of opportunity to succeed and to have a childhood as childhood should be.
We take great pride in preparing our pupils for the next stage of their educational journey. Working closely with families, we ensure that every child progresses to their preferred senior school at 13+.
Our school has an excellent record of pupils moving on to some of the most prestigious senior schools in the country, including Battle Abbey, Bede’s, Benenden, Brighton College, Charterhouse, Cranbrook, Eastbourne College, Eton, Harrow, Hurst, King’s Canterbury, Mayfield, Repton, Sevenoaks, Sutton Valence, Tonbridge and Winchester.
Our goal is to help parents make informed choices and to ensure that every child finds the school that best suits their individual strengths, interests and aspirations.
Located within the heart of the main school, our boarding house is very much an extended family. It is valued as a home away from home for our boarders; creating a relaxed and comfortable environment separate from academic life at the school.
Boarding is an integral part of MHV life, and we recognise that many working parents need additional support from the school, while at the same time letting children develop independence and spend time with their friends in a safe and caring environment.
Whether you are looking for full boarding or flexible boarding options, MHV can cater to the needs of all in a safe and family-centred boarding house.
We know that choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you can make. Our Admissions team will support and guide you through the process from your first enquiry right the way through to your child’s first day and will ensure you have a full understanding of our school, its ethos and the opportunities on offer.
Marlborough House Vinehall School offers a happy and inspiring environment for boys and girls from Nursery through to Year 8. The best way to find out more about what makes our School so inspiring is to come and see for yourself at one of our Open Days or you can arrange a private tour with our Head.
