Wychwood focuses on innovation, collaboration, creativity, and leadership to deliver added value to all its pupils, striving to inspire the great minds of tomorrow. Its approach through creative thinking runs across the entire Wychwood School curriculum and extra-curricular and is infused in everything the pupils do. The highly dedicated staff empower pupils to discover their passion and skills whilst providing first class education to enable them to find their natural space and place in the world. The entrepreneurial spirit is cultivated in every pupil as they are encouraged to question, innovate and create, paving the way for breakthrough ideas and game-changing solutions. Wychwood educates for life; for the real, modern, and contemporary life, whilst fostering a love for lifelong learning.
Curriculum. Pupils usually take on average 9.5 subjects at GCSE; most go on to work for A Levels and University entrance. The lower school curriculum includes: English, Mathematics, Religious Studies, History, Geography, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, French, Spanish, Computer Science, ICT, Textiles, Art, Drama, Photography, Music, PHSE and PE. In addition, pupils can also choose to study Business Studies, Economics, Film Studies, and Classical Civilisation for A Level. There is a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities after school and during the school day and additional super-curricular opportunities such as The Oxfordshire Chemistry Conference, UK Space Design competition and the annual Peace Conference to name but a few.
School Council. Day-to-day life is largely controlled by the School Council which meets weekly and consists of staff, senior pupils (elected by the school) and form representatives. This is a type of cooperative government teaches the pupils to deal with the problems of community life and gives everyone an understanding of and a voice in the rules necessary for the community of mutual respect which is fostered at Wychwood.

Members of Wychwood Sixth take on roles of responsibility and play an active part in the life of the school. The choice of subjects at A Level is varied and the considerable individual help with university applications and careers is a key feature of Wychwood Sixth.
