At ACS Egham, we offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) – an aspirational, global, and modern curriculum that inspires children to become the drivers of their own success. Rather than forcing students to jump through hoops, the IB awakens their inner curiosity, challenging students to think for themselves, exceed expectations, and make the most of their talents, so that they take command of their learning journey.
Just 25 miles from London, we are home to just under 430 students, co-educational aged 4 to 18, and 94 expert faculty staff from around the world. The school’s global outlook informs our curriculum, building on the very best of international educational standards, and providing our students with a world-class education that is fit for the 21st century.
Academic programmes. ACS Egham was the first school in the UK to have full authorisation to offer all four International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, providing our students with a globally recognised, reassuringly independent and seamless route to success – both in and out of the classroom. These programmes are the IB Primary Years (IB PYP), the Middle Years (IB MYP) and IB Diploma (IBDP) Programmes, as well as the IB Career-Related Programme (IBCP).
These programmes share a common philosophy and characteristics: they develop the whole student, helping them to grow socially, physically, aesthetically and culturally; and provide a broad and balanced education that includes Science, Humanities, Languages, Mathematics, Technology, Physical Education, and the Arts.
This academic programme challenges students to fulfil their potential, and offers a broad-based selection of courses and levels to meet individual needs and interests. An important characteristic of ACS Egham is individual attention to students’ needs facilitated by an exceptionally well-qualified, experienced and empathetic faculty, many of whom are IB examiners, moderators, and teacher trainers. The success of our programme is reflected in our IB Diploma pass rate over the last ten years, which has enabled our graduates to continue their studies at top universities around the world, including the UK and Europe as well as the US.
ACS Egham runs small class sizes which afford a greater opportunity for individual attention and support for various learning styles. Specialist staff meet with individual students’ teachers, administrators and parents, to ensure that every child is appropriately challenged and encouraged. A Language Coordinator assists families in organising native language lessons.
Facilities. Providing a great all-round education requires an amazing range of facilities. Our beautifully landscaped campus features: 36-acre site with Mansion House and multi-use sports fields; a 700 square-foot Design Technology and Art annexe with 3D printers, laser cutter and interactive modular classrooms; a Science wing with five labs and a prep room; two IT labs; a student centre with Performing Arts centre; a dedicated IB centre for Grades 11 and 12; and two libraries. We also offer three music practice rooms as well as dedicated Music classrooms and a forest school with a pond and chicken coop.
Sport and extracurricular activities. Our Woodlee Sports Centre comprises a dance studio, fitness suite, indoor climbing wall, two FIBA-sized basketball courts that can also convert to eight badminton courts or two volleyball courts and an outdoor traversing wall. ACS Egham offers an extensive range of extracurricular clubs and community service activities both locally and internationally. Students also participate in international Theatre Arts programmes, as well as Maths, Literature and Music competitions in the UK and across Europe. The campus sports programme runs three seasons, fielding teams in football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, dance, tennis and athletics. We also offer tournament sports competitions across the UK and Europe.
Accreditation. ACS Egham is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and is authorised by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to offer the IB PYP, IB MYP, IBDP and IBCP. The School holds memberships in the European Council of International Schools (ECIS), the Council of International Schools (COIS) and the Independent Schools Association (ISA).
Four schools, one world-class education. ACS Egham is part of ACS International Schools. Founded in 1967 to serve the needs of international and local families, ACS International Schools now educates 2,400 students up to age 18, from more than 70 countries, at three London area campuses in England.
