Eversfield is a Nursery and Day Preparatory School in Solihull preparing boys and girls for entry to the leading independent and grammar senior schools in the Midlands. The school was founded in 1931 and its mission is to provide an outstanding, broad education within a safe, caring, happy, family atmosphere where the talents of every child are valued and nurtured.
The curriculum focuses on academic excellence while retaining the breadth which nurtures the creative, sporting, technical and social skills of each child. The School's aim is for all their pupils to achieve beyond any boundaries set by expectations, whatever their talents and ability, and to instil a lifelong love of learning.
Eversfield was named Independent Prep School of the Year 2023 in the coveted Tes Schools Awards, and shortlisted as Independent Prep School of the Year in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2024.
Future schools. The wide range of scholarships regularly awarded demonstrates the breadth of high-quality teaching across the school. Children benefit by being individually guided through the process of carefully selecting the senior school that is right for them and pupils advance to the leading independent and grammar schools in the UK. The children are extremely happy and leave as confident, enthusiastic and inquisitive learners.
Co-curricular activities. There is a rich variety of lunchtime and after-school clubs on offer which provide opportunities to develop intellectual, creative and physical skills both inside and outside the classroom. The choice is impressive and includes choirs, chess, speech and drama, creative arts, dance, musical ensembles, STEM clubs and multiple sports disciplines.
Achievement in sport is strong and teams perform to a high standard against local opposition. Talented sports players are encouraged to attend trials for county teams and individual pupils compete at a very high level.
Pastoral care. At the heart of everything lies a deep care for each child, and family values permeate through the whole school. The school code of conduct, CARE, is central to the pastoral programme and helps children develop essential life skills: Compassion, Aspiration, Respect and Endeavour. The School promotes high moral standards and responsible attitudes based upon clear and relevant Christian teaching. A strong sense of community exists where small classes, a well-ordered routine and excellent pastoral support helps pupils to feel secure and develop their self-confidence.
Facilities. Set on an attractive five-acre site, impressive facilities are akin to those found at a senior school and include specialist rooms for teaching art, design and technology, science, food technology, music and digital literacy. Sporting facilities comprise a gymnasium, extensive playing fields and all-weather courts.
The sports and performing arts centre is an impressive state-of-the-art building featuring an indoor heated swimming pool, three badminton courts, indoor cricket nets and is also marked for netball. The customised lighting and sound system, theatre curtains, modular staging and retractable seating for over 200 make it the perfect venue for performances. Children in Kindergarten and Nursery have access to all the facilities on the site and are cared for in a warm and welcoming dedicated purpose-built building with its own secure outdoor all-weather play area.
Bursaries. Thanks to the School's charitable status, a number of fee-assisted places are made available each year. This financial support, ranging from 10% up to 100% reduction in school fees, is available for pupils entering Form 1, and above.
Charitable status. Eversfield Preparatory School Trust Limited is a Registered Charity, number 528966. It is under the direction of a Board of Governors and exists to carry out the work of an Independent Preparatory School.
