Founded in 1935, Heathcote School has achieved a high reputation and won many accolades including ISA Junior School of the Year 2021–2022. One of our newly qualified teachers was also a silver award winner in the 2021 TES National Awards.
Heathcote is a small, village school that encourages excellence in all areas to ensure pupils leave as confident, capable well-rounded citizens.
Children may start in our Nursery from 2 years old. We offer wraparound care from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm with holiday club provision ensuring 48-week cover and have many extracurricular activities throughout the day to give a plethora of opportunities.
Specialist subject teachers ensure the success of the high teaching standards expected at this school. Children are prepared for scholarships, entrance examinations and the Essex Selective Schools Examination at 11+. A very high pass rate is attained across these examinations.
The School participates in many sporting fixtures including netball, football, cricket and swimming and is particularly successful in horse jumping, cross-country and triathlon.
Pupils are expected to show courtesy and consideration at all times and encouraged to develop self-discipline and pride in themselves and their environment. Regular consultations with parents are held and the Head Teacher is always available for any discussions that parents consider necessary. We have an active and dedicated ‘Friends of Heathcote School’ who regularly hold social events, e.g. Heathcote Ball, and raise funds for charity and for the school.
