The School is divided into four Houses for House competitions. Pastoral care and supervision of academic progress are overseen between the Head, Housemasters, Form and subject teachers. Co-curricular provision is extensive, including everything from judo to Quidditch.
Music plays a significant role in school life, with the school being a member of the Choir Schools Association. In addition to the Cathedral Choir, there are senior and junior choirs, an orchestra, wind and string groups. Private tuition is available in most instruments through qualified peripatetic teachers. The school holds music performances including concerts, services and festivals. Music scholarships to independent senior schools are awarded each year.
Art, drama, and Design and Technology are key parts of the curriculum, supported by dedicated facilities including an art studio with a kiln, a fully equipped DT workshop and performance space for drama productions.
Games include association football, rugby, cricket, athletics, swimming, basketball, hockey and badminton. The school benefits from a field, gym, astroturf and a purpose-built Sports Hall.
Regular school visits to local places of interest are organised, and international trips for skiing, water sports, football and cultural experiences are also available.
The Pre-Preparatory department, for boys aged 3–7 (including a Nursery unit), is housed in a separate building but shares many of the main Prep School’s facilities.
