Moon Hall School is a thriving mainstream specialist school for Dyslexic children. We are hugely ambitious for our pupils in all aspects of their school life, we all champion them to be the very best version of themselves.
We tailor our curriculum to meet the needs of our pupils; our pupils will be challenged to push on and aim higher whatever their ability may be. Challenge and being able to push themselves is of great importance, in order to achieve the very best in their studies, whether this be on the sports field, the stage or in their academic lessons. Our curriculum includes a wide range of creative subjects in which our pupils can excel. We want our pupils to enjoy learning and the excitement to be gained from having an enquiring mind, to appreciate the wonder and complexity of the world and to have opportunities to be innovative.
GCSE results 2024: 72% overall grades 9-4. 75% of pupils received 5+ Grades at Grades 9-4. 65% of pupils received 5+ Grades at Grades 9-4 (Incl Maths and English). Given our pupils have dyslexia, this is a phenomenal achievement for all staff and pupils and demonstrates the value added that being a pupil at Moon Hall can bring.
Admission is based on a review of specialist reports relating to the child’s educational needs or developmental progress and attendance at taster days. As a small school with a limited number of places, currently at full capacity, we have to carefully assess the suitability of each pupil before making a decision as to whether we can offer a place.
With high adult:pupil ratios our staff know our pupils individually and help them to develop independent learning strategies. Our pastoral support is exemplary, we know each pupil as an individual and we work with our families to create a supportive and enriching learning opportunity for them all. We work closely in partnership with our parents in all aspects of their child’s development and wellbeing.
We provide our pupils with opportunities for teamwork and leadership, in which their personalities can develop and flourish. We encourage them to be positive, compassionate and know the value of making a contribution to their community. Our aim is for all our pupils to leave us with the qualifications they need for the next stage of their education and their adult life. Above all, we expect them to leave as confident, independent individuals, with integrity and enthusiasm for the future.
