The Paragon is an independent, co-educational day school set in a beautiful Georgian house just a mile from the centre of Bath. Surrounded by eight acres of woodland, lawns and streams, our grounds are the perfect outdoor classroom, used across the curriculum. We also benefit from access to the superb Sport, Science, D&T and Drama facilities at our Senior School, Prior Park College.
There’s a homely warmth to life at The Paragon, rooted in our Christian ethos, strong pastoral care, and belief that primary education should inspire curiosity, creativity and joy.
Our broad curriculum, taught in small classes by passionate teachers, nurtures independent and imaginative thinking. Academic results are consistently well above the national average, with many pupils winning scholarships and Head’s Awards to senior schools. Facilities include a library, gymnasium/dining hall, Art studio, Music Lodge, and a vibrant Pre-School with secure play areas.
Art and creativity flourish here. From early years to Year 6, pupils produce exceptional artwork, exploring a wide range of techniques and materials that regularly feature in exhibitions and competitions.
Sport is another strength, with pupils enjoying a wide range of activities and regular success in tournaments. All children are encouraged to take part, supported by access to Prior Park College’s swimming pool, Astroturf, courts, pitches and sports centre.
Our extracurricular programme offers over 60 clubs, from pottery and chess to drama and cross-country. Music is central to school life, with every pupil learning an instrument and opportunities to join choirs, orchestras and ensembles.
While proud of our academic success, we aim for more than exam results. We strive to develop the whole child – physically, emotionally, spiritually and intellectually – lighting a lifelong love of learning.
Charitable status. Prior Park Educational Trust is a Registered Charity, number 281242.
