The School. St Benedict’s is a leading independent co-educational all-through Catholic school, in leafy Ealing, West London.
The school has the distinct advantage of offering a seamless education from Nursery to Sixth Form, meaning that from the age of three, children can begin their very first educational steps at the Nursery through to their final year at secondary school in Year 13.
St Benedict’s Nursery & Junior School. Here they can make firm and lasting friendships and enjoy familiar surroundings and facilities, which helps ease their transition to our Senior School which is located on the same grounds.
When children join us in the Junior School, we fully anticipate that they will continue their journey with us into the Senior School, where we remain committed to providing a challenging, enriching, and stimulating curriculum that prepares the girls and boys for the excellent academic and co-curricular opportunities ahead.
Our Junior School pupils are not required to sit the 11+ assessment, allowing us to maintain momentum in their learning and ensure a smooth, confident transition into the Senior School. As a result, they begin Year 7 feeling relaxed, assured, and ready for the new exciting journey ahead.
Combining strong academic standards with outstanding personal development, within a nurturing and happy community, our aim is to enable all children to develop their full potential.
We encourage our pupils to be excited by their learning, to follow their natural curiosity, and to have the confidence in their ability to make progress within a supportive, friendly and vibrant environment in which to learn.
Our Nursery offers a carefully planned development programme, while the Junior School provides a broad and balanced curriculum based on a rigorous academic core.
At St Benedict's, we promote principled leadership, resilience, and strong character. Rooted in Christian values such as integrity, fairness, and generosity, we aim to equip young people with the qualities needed to succeed in the future.
Sport. We boast a strong sporting tradition, where a wholesome approach to sport is encouraged in all our pupils from a very young age. Here they learn the value of teamwork, leadership, commitment, respect and discipline.
With 14 acres of floodlit sports fields, everyone is encouraged to enjoy the extensive and varied sports and fitness programme on offer.
Creative Arts. Our thriving arts programme in music, drama, dance, and art provides students with opportunities to express themselves creatively. Performances and exhibitions are of the highest standard, with students of all ages actively participating with passion and energy.
Extracurricular. Co-curricular activities are also firmly embedded in life at St Benedict's. Our extensive programme of co-curricular clubs offers pupils the opportunity to develop their personal interests or to explore new activities and develop personal passions. Clubs and activities range from the arts to STEM, ensuring there is something for everyone.
At St Benedict's, we promote principled leadership, resilience, and strong character. Rooted in Christian values such as integrity, fairness, and generosity, we aim to equip young people with the qualities needed to succeed in the future.
Pastoral Care. The pastoral care is exceptional – and in recent years St Benedict’s has won awards with NAPCE (National Association of Pastoral Care in Education) and Independent School Parent, along with a Global Inclusion Award 2024 from the International Forum of Inclusion Practitioners (IFIP). The school prioritises mental health through innovative, student-centered initiatives, fostering resilience and emotional intelligence in pupils.
St Benedict’s excels in empowering students to actively participate in their own wellbeing and school life, beyond traditional models. This comprehensive approach allows students to develop resilience and emotional intelligence, preparing them to handle future challenges effectively.
The school follows the Benedictine values of ‘teaching a way of living’, and encouraging pupils to show respect for themselves, others and the world around them – and the school motto, ‘a minimis incipe’ (from small beginnings) inspires pupils to realise their full potential and achieve greatness.
