Victoria College Preparatory School was founded in 1922 as an integral part of Victoria College and is now a separate School under its own Headteacher, who is responsible for such matters as staffing, curriculum and administration. The Preparatory School shares Governors with Victoria College, whose members are drawn from the leaders of the Island of Jersey, with a minority representation from the States of Jersey Education Committee. Members of staff are all experienced and well-qualified teachers, including specialists in Art, Dance, Music, PE, French and Science. Entry to the Prep School is at 7 and boys normally leave to enter Victoria College at the age of 11. The school games are cricket, football, athletics, swimming, hockey, cross-country and rugby. Sporting facilities are shared with Victoria College. Special features of the school are exceptionally high standards of sport, drama, music, and French. Many visits, both sporting and educational, are arranged out of the Island.
A separate Pre-Preparatory School (5 to 7 years) is incorporated in a co-educational school situated at Jersey College Preparatory School and offers places for boys whose parents wish them to be educated at both Victoria College and the Preparatory School. Candidates for Pre-Prep entry should be registered at Jersey College Prep, St Helier, Jersey.
