Vinehall is a leading co-educational day, boarding school and nursery for children between the ages of 2 and 13 and is a proud member of the Repton Family of Schools. Our family of schools share an outward-looking, forward-thinking philosophy of how to give children the very best chances in the world that awaits them.
Founded in 1938, Vinehall School is located in 50 acres of picturesque East Sussex countryside, and provides a unique learning experience that allows our children to thrive in an expansive and nurturing family environment. Our goal is to give every child the opportunity to succeed both academically and personally while allowing them to remain children for as long as possible.
Our wonderful site means our pupils have a freedom rarely found these days, providing opportunities to explore and play outside, including climbing trees and building dens. This environment fosters a love for nature and encourages our children to become responsible stewards of the environment. We are fortunate to boost exceptional facilities including a magnificent Millennium Building, comprising classrooms, IT suite and library, a science block, music building, art, design and technology centre, a purpose-built theatre with seating for 250, a sports hall and adjoining indoor swimming pool, an AstroTurf pitch, an adventure playground and a nine-hole golf course.
At Vinehall, we have high academic expectations for our children, supported by dedicated teachers who inspire them to work with enthusiasm and enjoyment in preparation for their senior schools and beyond. We take great pride in preparing our pupils for their next educational journey. In Years 7 and 8, our dedicated teachers focus on preparing pupils for Common Entrance and scholarships to various independent senior schools at 13+.
Our school has a history of sending pupils to some of the most prestigious senior schools in the country, including Battle Abbey, Bede’s, Benenden, Brighton College, Charterhouse, Cranbrook, Eastbourne College, Eton, Harrow, Hurst, King’s Canterbury, Mayfield, Repton, Sevenoaks, Sutton Valence, Tonbridge and Winchester. Our aim is to help parents make informed decisions and ensure that every child is matched with the most suitable school for them.
Located within the heart of the main school, our boarding house is very much an extended family. It is valued as a home away from home for our boarders; creating a relaxed and comfortable environment separate from academic life at the school.
Boarding has always been an integral part of Vinehall life, and we recognise that many working parents need additional support from the school, while at the same time letting children develop independence and spend time with their friends in a safe and caring environment.
Whether you are looking for full boarding or flexible boarding options, Vinehall can cater to the needs of all in a safe and family-centred boarding house.
We know that choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you can make. Our Admissions team will support and guide you through the process from your first enquiry right the way through to your child’s first day and will ensure you have a full understanding of our school, its ethos and the opportunities on offer.
Vinehall School offers a happy and inspiring environment for boys and girls from Nursery through to Year 8. The best way to find out more about what makes our School so inspiring is to come and see for yourself at one of our Open Days or you can arrange a private tour with our Head.
