Academic qualifications are a prime focus for us, yet we know that qualifications alone will not suffice for a life fully lived. Together, qualifications and qualities are what an education for today and tomorrow must deliver.
There are opportunities. So many opportunities. In the classroom, on the sports fields, in the clubs and societies. We offer every pupil the chance to unearth new talents and to develop valuable life skills.
Underpinning everything is a strong, community spirit that empowers each pupil to thrive and succeed. We have created a community of togetherness where none of us is as important as all of us.
Our strategic objectives and projects ensure we are creating the Bishop’s Stortford College of tomorrow. These days, standing still is moving backwards. Bishop’s Stortford College is not standing still. It is as simple as that.
We are the modern face of independent education.
Prep School. The organisation of the Prep School (for pupils up to age 13+) is largely separate from that of the Senior School, but the curricula of the two schools are carefully integrated. Pupils share resources in sport, design and technology, and music.
(For further details see entry in IAPS section.) Admission. The main ages of admission are 3, 4, 7, 10, 11, 13 and 16, but entry at intermediate stages is possible. Entry to our Senior School at 13+ is based on school reference, interview and entry test results. Sixth Form Entry interviews and examinations are held in the November before year of entry.
