Fettes College – A place to live. A place to learn. A place to grow.
Fettes College is a leading co-educational boarding and day school.
Fettes is housed in a striking turreted building in a stunning 100-acre wooded campus, within walking distance of central Edinburgh, combining the advantages of a city school with the privacy and space of a rural setting,
Following the English curriculum of GCSE and offering the dual pathway of A levels and the International Baccalaureate in the Sixth Form, the school has a global perspective and this, combined with the full boarding school ethos, attracts students both locally and internationally.
Fettes is the top IB School in Scotland and in the top IB Schools in the UK. The IB Diploma facilitates students who wish to maintain a broader range of subjects for longer while still enabling specialism in their Higher-Level subjects. Students take six subjects for two years and must complete study in English, Mathematics, Science, a Language (ancient or modern) and a Humanities subject. In addition, students follow a course in the Theory of Knowledge, undertake a programme of Creativity, Action and Service and complete an Extended Essay on a subject of their choice.
Character development, alongside academic achievement, thrives in this community which values curiosity, creativity and kindness.
Our students will leave the school knowing themselves, looking out for others, capable of thinking critically and ready to make a positive mark on their rapidly changing world. They will be bold and visionary yet compassionate; they will possess a global perspective and be ready to embrace the opportunities of the future.’ Helen Harrison, Head
